The ASCE Dallas Branch proudly awarded the prestigious James W. Griffin Memorial Scholarship, distributing a total of $35,000 among six exceptional undergraduate and graduate students. This scholarship, one of the most distinguished honors offered by the branch, is designed to recognize academic excellence, leadership, and dedication to the civil engineering profession.
From a highly competitive pool of 31 preselected candidates, the scholarship committee conducted a rigorous evaluation process. Students were assessed not only on their academic achievements but also on their professional promise, involvement in ASCE activities, and commitment to advancing the civil engineering community. After careful review, the selection was narrowed to six outstanding recipients, each exemplifying the values of merit, perseverance, and a deep dedication to learning.
Research and Innovation Centre for Science and Engineering (RISE) has funded a total of 72 eligible projects among the final year students for undergraduate research work based on their project proposal.
My proposal got 63 out of 75 marks evaluated by the reviewers, which helped me to secure the grant of $740 for carrying out my research work. I'm grateful for this funding opportunity given by the authority motivated me to have an impact in the field of research and development.
I was fortunate enough to place in 1st Runner-up in Ceismic (Civil Engineering Festival 2023) arranged by Department of Civil Engineering, BUET. My friend, Asif Muktadir, and I joined forces as a dynamic duo in the Buzzer Master competition. After surviving three deadlier rounds of general knowledge and tricky questions about Civil Engineering our team 'Pathfinder' secured its path to the runner up position. It was an enchanting escapade.
