The ASCE Dallas Branch proudly awarded the prestigious James W. Griffin Memorial Scholarship, distributing a total of $35,000 among six exceptional undergraduate and graduate students. This scholarship, one of the most distinguished honors offered by the branch, is designed to recognize academic excellence, leadership, and dedication to the civil engineering profession.

From a highly competitive pool of 31 preselected candidates, the scholarship committee conducted a rigorous evaluation process. Students were assessed not only on their academic achievements but also on their professional promise, involvement in ASCE activities, and commitment to advancing the civil engineering community. After careful review, the selection was narrowed to six outstanding recipients, each exemplifying the values of merit, perseverance, and a deep dedication to learning.

In an exquisitely arranged photography contest celebrating the beauty of structures, passionate enthusiasts showcased their talents. Among them, I, a devoted admirer of architectural photography, had the honor of having one of my photos selected for the exhibition.

My lens captured a mesmerizing sight from the top of a 15-story symmetrical hospital edifice. The building, with its rounded contours, appeared like a magnificent funnel, drawing the viewer's gaze into its enchanting depths. The image exuded an artistic allure that left a profound impression on all who beheld it.
